In the U.S, there is a big debate going on about wearing a mask. I feel that there is a misunderstanding over wearing a mask. Those who do not want to wear, claim that if mask works so well, then why are you worried about catching something?
Sure, people do wear masks to protect themselves from the virus, but the main reason people wear masks is to prevent spreading the virus.
What some people continue to ignore is that you can carry the virus around and not even know it. So, when you’re strutting around Walmart bitching about your American Rights, you’re spitting germs everywhere. You might not be able to see them, but you are releasing little droplets of germs everywhere you go. If you are sick, you are spreading the sickness. Then people bring home the items containing the virus that just spewed out your mouth while you were singing, “God Bless the USA” and spread it to their loved ones. Then they spread it to more people and before you can say, “Make America Great Again,” we have another outbreak in our country with no sign of relief.
Are masks 100% effective? No, but neither are condoms! Health experts say the evidence is clear that masks, can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and that the more people wearing masks, the better. Just look at the other countries that have flattened the curve. They did so with unity and compliance with what the experts told them to do. One of the things to do was wear a mask.
What’s it going to hurt to wear a mask anyway? Nobody is asking you to wear it at home or even in your car but only in the stores and other public places. It’s not like you must wear it forever but only until we can contain this virus. Besides, some butt ugly people can benefit themselves from wearing a mask. Just think of the little dogs who will no longer run away from you as they bark for their little lives or the children with their noses shriveled up from stank breath.
I do understand that there is a very small percentage of people, who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, but that is not a good enough reason for everyone else not to comply with this need. If you are one of these people who can’t wear a mask, try to stay home. Use common sense and try having your stuff delivered or a family member or friend help you get your things.
For those of you who refuse to wear a mask simply because of the low death rate, Karma has a way of coming back on you. When it affects you or somebody you love, you will wish you would have listened to the health experts.
This virus has not slowed down. Especially in Republican-run states, where they chose to downplay the virus, rather than take the necessary preventions to contain it. Regardless if you agree or not, until all people can come together and agree on a solution, we will never have this Trump virus under control.
Wear the mask!
