“The Answer” is a heartfelt plea for unity and faith in a world marked by turmoil and despair. The poem paints a vivid picture of a society burdened by grief, division, and hopelessness, yet offers a beacon of hope in the form of divine love and compassion. It serves as a call to action, urging readers to turn to Jesus, renew their faith, and spread unconditional love as a means of healing and transformation.
The Answer
Our world is in crisis and families are grieving
lives are being taken while others are leaving
Hearts still are broken as never-ending tears fall
few love one another and some don’t love at allMany are hurting and unable to cope
longing for a purpose while searching for hope
Let’s give them to Jesus and lift them in prayer
renew our faith by showing we careLet us show what our Jesus is made of
mercy grace and unbreakable love
and maybe in doing so we’ll all get to see
love that spreads unconditionallySo let’s get started and drop to our knees
and pray to Jesus I’m begging you please
Let’s change the world with faith and believing
Our world is in crisis and families are grievingDavid Ritter

MEMORIES FOR KEEPS
A collection of poetry that reveals one man’s feelings about the world around him. With spirituality the centerpiece of most of his writings, the author touches the hearts and minds of readers with hope, peace, love, humility, wisdom, and wit. While tackling topics ranging from grief to fatherhood, from addictions to friendships, this writer captures the essence of a born-again, alcoholic dad who is grateful to have finally found serenity in life. Today, through this collection of both old and new works, he shares that serenity with you!
BOTTLED MEMORIES
These stand-alone poems were written over many years. While individually they describe the conflicts associated with alcoholism, when read together they reveal a more complete picture of the destruction, depression, and chaos of addiction, as well as the peace, hope, and joy of recovery. Although most of these poems pertain to my life, it is my hope that other people will relate to them also. It’s not only my story but the story of so many others.
