Silhouette breaking chains at sunrise symbolizing spiritual freedom — Father in Heaven poem

FATHER IN HEAVEN – A Poem by David Ritter

“Father in Heaven” is a heartfelt plea for forgiveness, renewal, and spiritual strength. This poem reflects the journey from brokenness to redemption through faith.

Father in Heaven

Father in heaven, please forgive my sin,
I haven’t prayed since I don’t know when.
And as a result, my life is a mess,
in need of forgiveness, I confess.

Father in heaven, please hear my plea.
I’m now left blind, and unable to see.
I traveled the world, in search of hope,
and fell in a pit, unable to cope.

Father in heaven, please hear my cry.
I need your help, or I could die.
Give me the strength, to break the chain,
to unlock my heart, that feeds my brain.

Father in heaven, answered my prayer,
and blessed my life, so I can share,
how out of the pit, he delivered me,
and smashed the chains for victory!
