“My Fix” is a raw and introspective poem about battling inner darkness and finding peace through faith and writing. David Ritter shares how creativity becomes a lifeline in moments of deep struggle.
My Fix
Darkness lurks inside my mind
If I’m not careful I’ll go blind
It tries to change my heart to stone
In times like this I’m best alone
I lay awake in bed at night
And pray to God to send me light
So I can write with pen in hand
And spread His love across the land
I watch these veins with blood so blue
Bleed crimson words for all of you
With each poem I find some peace
And in my mind the darkness cease
