One Day to Live – A Poem By David Ritter

“One Day to Live” invites readers to reflect on their priorities and the fleeting nature of time. This thoughtful piece encourages living intentionally and cherishing each moment as if tomorrow were not guaranteed.

One Day to Live

If you had one day to live
What things would you do
Finish off your bucket list
Visit a friend or two

Would you rush to see your children
Visit your parents frantically
Would you want to die alone
Or surrounded by family

Would you get right with God
And spend the day in prayer
Or would you get angry with Him
And complain how life’s not fair

Would you spend the day laughing
Or crying because you’re sad
Would you dwell on past regrets
Or appreciate what you’ve had

Because tomorrow isn’t promised
No matter what you plan
So you better get busy living
The best way that you can

And make time to make memories
With all the love you can give
By spending each blessed day
As if you had one day to live
