See You Again – A Poem by David Ritter

“See You Again” is a heartfelt tribute to a cherished friend, Dennis Pruett. Blending nostalgia, sorrow, and gratitude, this poem honors the memories shared, the impact of true friendship, and the hopeful promise of reunion in Heaven.

See You Again

I know one day I’ll see you again
up in Heaven but don’t know when
I look forward to that glorious day
but until then I have this to say…

I cherish the times we shot pool
even the times you took me to school
I’ll never forget the times we fished
you did the catching and I only wished
And I’ll remember the poker game
you won my money and I cursed your name

But I won’t forget how from the start
the love you shared filled so many hearts
I’m so sorry how it had to end
it broke the hearts of family and friends
We will live on like you’d want us to
but not a day will pass that we don’t think of you

So I look forward to that glorious day
when I see you again with so much to say
I’ll just have to miss you ’til then
with memories of a great friend you’ve been
