The Light of Christmas – A Poem by David Ritter

The Light of Christmas

The Light of Christmas reflects the warmth, joy, and meaning of the holiday season. Through vivid imagery of twinkling lights and the true Light of Christ, this poem invites readers to embrace kindness, hope, and the love brought by our Savior’s birth.

The Light of Christmas

The tree is adorned with a radiant strand,
Twinkling gently, like a caroling band.
Its lights hum sweetly of love and cheer,
Drawing the spirit of Christmas near.

Icicle lights fall like a winter cascade,
Quietly lending a silvery shade.
They frame our rooftops in an icy line,
A joyful sign of Christmastime.

Bulbs illuminate in a rainbow hue,
A beacon of hope shining through.
Lanterns flicker with a nurturing grace,
Leading us home to a cherished place.

Net lights drape bushes like shimmering seas,
Swaying softly in the evening breeze.
Through frosted panes, Yuletide candles burn,
A guiding light for hearts that yearn.

Projection lights whirl upon the wall,
Inflatable Santas stand proud and tall.
A merry snowman with a beaming grin
Invites the season of joy within.

Yet above it all, one Light prevails,
The Star of Bethlehem, whose flame unveils.
A path of peace that draws us near,
Spreading hope through each passing year.

For Christ is the Light, our steadfast guide,
Born to redeem and walk by our side.
His love shines bright through each Silent Night,
A Savior’s gift, Emmanuel’s Light.

So let us carry His Light wherever we go,
Through acts of kindness, let mercy flow.
With His birth, love’s dawn broke through,
A gift of grace for me and you.
