“United We Stand” is a powerful reminder that love, compassion, and unity are the only forces strong enough to overcome hatred and division. This poem calls us back to our shared humanity — and to our responsibility to stand together.
United We Stand
United we stand but divided we’ll fall
If in a country like ours there’s no love at all
How can we truly make America great
When flames of racism are fueled by hate
Can we not try to love one another
And stand side by side like sister and brother
Whether Buddhist Muslim Agnostic or Christian
Can we not sit down and take time to listen
So many closed minds would argue and fight
And risk losing love to prove they are right
Hatred and mistrust still tear us apart
We know this is true deep down in our hearts
It really shouldn’t matter the color of skin
Or what type of building that we worship in
What really does matter to our God above
Is why we choose hatred rather than love
Now if you agree and want hatred to end
It must start with us it’s ours to mend
For united we stand but divided we’ll fall
If in a country like ours there’s no love at all
