Waiting for Heaven
“Waiting for Heaven” is a tender reflection on love, loss, and the promise of eternal reunion. It speaks to those who carry both sorrow and hope — trusting that Heaven’s peace will one day make every tear worthwhile.
Waiting for Heaven
I don’t speak it aloud, yet deep in me I know,
I’m waiting for Heaven in this world below.
I smile and I laugh, but my heart’s still aware,
Of the longing within for the love waiting there.
I try to find joy as I walk through each day,
I carry the light in the best way I may.
Yet part of me lingers where Earth meets the skies,
With hope in my heart and with tears in my eyes.
I’m waiting to see the dear faces I miss,
To feel once again a soft hug and a kiss.
For peace this world has not managed to give,
A final rest where our spirits can live.
It’s not giving up, it’s just knowing the truth,
The promise of Heaven renews me with youth.
The best isn’t lost, just a gift yet to come,
Held safe in His hands when my journey is done.
So I’ll carry the weight of two worlds in my soul,
Half longing for home, yet still playing my role.
Through sorrow and hope, I will walk while I can,
Still waiting for Heaven, and trusting His plan.
