“Winter’s Warmth” is a beautifully crafted Christmas poem that captures the essence of the season. Through vivid imagery and heartfelt reflections, the poet evokes the joy, peace, and wonder associated with this special time of year.
Winter’s Warmth
When Autumn gives way to Winter
and fresh snow kisses the ground
When lights twinkle from house to house
and bells ring a familiar sound
When gingerbread cookies are baked
and presents are under the tree
When snowflakes fall from a winter’s sky
what a joy I find it to be
When sacred candles glow in windows
and light bulbs adorn the trees
When nativity scenes on snowcapped yards
spread peace with seasons breeze
When stockings are hung in the living room
with decorations I hold dear
When family gather for a hearty dinner
I’m filled with holiday cheer
When piles of snow are beneath my boots
and the brisk winds hit
I consider the reason for the season
and reflect on all of it
When frosty hills with a tender glow
light up December’s night
I’ll know that Christmas day is near
from the warmth of Emmanuel’s light
