“Calmer Seas” is a peaceful reflection on struggle, faith, and endurance. Through vivid nautical imagery, David Ritter reminds us that even in life’s roughest waters, the tide always turns toward hope and healing.
Calmer Seas
I sometimes feel I’m drowning,
In a stormy sea of pain,
And those who claim to love me
Add heavy, driving rain.
Sometimes the waves surround me,
Their fury rocks my bones,
If God’s my port of refuge,
Why must I sail alone?
I’ll never reach perfection,
As others wish for me to be,
I’m just a ship still sailing,
Toward a harbor meant for me.
Though waves still rise beneath the hull,
And I drift in doubt and fear,
I truly feel the tide is turning,
And calmer seas draw near.
