“Gratitude” is a simple, heartfelt poem that pauses to appreciate life’s everyday blessings — a roof overhead, food on the table, loved ones nearby, and the freedoms we often take for granted.
Gratitude
I’m thankful for the roof
I have above my head
I’m thankful for the room
with a soft warm bed
I’m thankful for the clothes
I have inside my drawer
I’m thankful for the food
I never long for more
I’m thankful for my kids
that they’re healthy as can be
I’m thankful for my friends
and love from family
I’m thankful for the soldiers
both present and past
I’m thankful for my God
whose mercy always lasts
I’m thankful for my country
The good ole USA
I’m thankful for my life
I’m thankful for today
