Nobody Knows- A Poem by David Ritter

Nobody knows how many times,
I’ve sat in my room and cried,
or how many times I’ve lost all sleep,
when dreams of hope had died.

Nobody knows the miles I’ve trekked,
searching for love with no map,
or how many times I was misled,
into a treacherous trap.

Nobody knows all the bad thoughts,
that swiftly cloud my mind,
or how many times the storms of life,
left me cold and blind.

Nobody knows the depths of the pit,
where only the darkness grows,
or how many times I pined for Light,
to rescue me from my foes.

Nobody knows how blessed I am,
since God has set me free,
or how many times God held me close,
nobody knows it but me.
