True Love at Last is a lighthearted yet heartfelt poem celebrating genuine affection and companionship. Blending humor with tenderness, it reminds us that love can appear in unexpected forms — and that true connection often comes with laughter, loyalty, and warmth.
True Love at Last
I know she isn’t my first love,
but I hope she’ll be my last.
and since she pranced into my life,
she’s helped me forget the past.
Her love for me is everlasting,
and I’m her number one.
When it comes to the game of love,
this guy has finally won.
Her serene eyes are green like ivy,
her hair is soft as snow.
And each day we spend together,
our love finds a way to grow.
She loves me when I am playful,
even in times that I am mad.
And she does her best to cheer me up,
in times that I am sad.
Sometimes she can be moody,
and wants to be left alone.
but most times she will be frisky,
in ways I’ve never known.
Not once has she ever complained,
when I go out with a friend.
because she knows I will return,
with love that knows no end.
At night I hold her close to me,
and snuggle on my bed.
And the warmth of her body helps fuel,
sweet dreams that fill my head.
She accepts me the way that I am,
despite being bald and fat.
But I’ve never known a truer love,
than the love I have with my cat.
