Gone Rockin’ – A Poem by David Ritter

Gone Rockin’

The music called, I had to go,
Beyond the gates, another show.
Though heaven’s light now guides my way,
I’ll miss you more with each new day.

Though I’m gone, don’t weep for me,
Our songs will live on endlessly.
Until we meet where angels sing,
Hold close the joy that memories bring.

Some nights will sting when silence starts,
Just press play and follow your heart.
I left too soon, but this I swear,
In our songs, I’ll still be there.

So turn it up and sing along,
Feel me near when love is strong.
I’ve loved you all through thick and thin,
Be glad, not sad, I’ve gone rockin’.
