Surrendered – A Poem by David Ritter

Surrendered is a heartfelt poem about redemption and grace. Through honest reflection and faith-filled lines, David Ritter reveals how true peace begins the moment we let go of fear and place our trust in God.

Surrendered

I can remember a time in my life
when everything seemed so wrong.
The world felt turned upside-down,
and I thought I didn’t belong.

For many a year, a great darkness,
lurked inside my mind.
I tried to search for a guiding light,
but I was lost and blind.

I felt unworthy of God’s love
for the bad choices I made.
And I would pretend that I was okay
when deep down, I was afraid.

Afraid that God was mad at me,
for letting me feel this way.
And that He mocked my every word,
at times I tried to pray.

I knew of His Son, Jesus Christ,
who died on the cross for me.
But I did not see the power in Him,
would heal me spiritually.

Until the day all hope was gone,
my outlook on life was grim.
I accepted the fact that I needed help,
so I surrendered my life to Him!
