Christmas Time – A Poem by David Ritter

“Christmas Time” is a heartfelt reflection on the true meaning of Christmas — the birth of Christ, the warmth of family, and the love we carry for those who are no longer with us. This poem captures the spirit of faith, gratitude, and treasured memories.

Christmas Time

I’d like to take the time to share
what Christmas means to me.
A time to celebrate a birth
and spend time with family.

Before there was a Santa Claus
and presents beneath a tree,
there was a loving Savior born
who died for you and me.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the lights
and Rudolph makes me smile.
But take the time to worship God
you know it’s been a while.

And take the time to remember those
who are no longer here,
despite the chance a memory
may sprout a sudden tear.

And cherish those around you now,
’cause in the future, you’ll agree,
the gift that’s treasured most in life
is time with family.
